Colour Sells

The power of colour has long been associated with the successful promotion of products or branding in the commercial world. In markets subject to changing fashions, it is particularly important to sell the right colour at the right time.
 
Colour consultants are "scientists" who monitor trends and developments across a wide range of industries and media as well as consulting with other colour professionals to reach a concensus of opinion. This enables them to make accurate forecasts of colour trends that will inevitably affect the profitability of products and services in the market place.

Artists have long known the power of generating emotional cue's by the use of colour - calming blues, hot reds, etc.  The neural pathways of the human brain allow some of this emotional and visual stimulation to mix. Colour-synesthetes are a group of people who "feel" the effects of a sensory perception like reading a word or a number, in terms of colour and hue, and may even agree with other synesthetes on the "colour" of particular words or numbers.

Peoples shared emotional feeling for colour is used by companies wanting to encourage a desired perception of brand or product. It is also vital when promoting an emotional response that translates into a positive customer experiences.
